When the owners of a newly built home on Glensheen Way in The Woodlands reached out to Hummingbird Pools, their goal was clear: they wanted their custom pool completed before move-in day. But this wasn’t your average backyard build—it was a full-scale transformation that began with a literal clearing of the land.
The Challenge
The lot was heavily wooded, requiring the removal of over 100 trees just to break ground for the pool. On top of that, the distance from the gas meter to the heater presented an additional obstacle. Timing and precision were key to ensuring everything was completed before the homeowners arrived.
Our Solution
We delivered a modern, visually striking design that perfectly complements the natural surroundings. The pool features a black plaster finish for a sleek black-bottom look, along with a pool-level spa and a faux infinity edge—achieved by dropping the back beam two inches below the top to create that elegant, over-the-edge effect without the full engineering of a true infinity wall.
Additional luxury elements included a black slate fire pit, black slate water feature, and a multi-level travertine patio, creating depth and dimension throughout the space. Every detail was chosen to blend clean modern design with natural beauty.
The Result
The finished backyard is nothing short of a private resort. The homeowners were thrilled with the result—so much so, they’re already planning additional features. What started as a heavily wooded lot is now a custom outdoor escape designed for both relaxation and refined entertaining.
